No more backports for lenny. Old key will expire.
Since backporting QT 4.5 was far more easier than expected I continued to
backport KDE 4.3.1 to Debian/GNU Lenny.
I will also continue to backport 4.3.2 which is the actual testing version.
This backport now follows naming convention from backports.org.
Yet I am still uncertain whether to upload the packages also to backports.org.
Due to the massive amount of changes like required newer packages and their
dependencies I decided to NOT backport KDE 4.3.x to Debian GNU/Lenny!
I will try to keep the 4.2.4 backports in a good shape so that updating to squeeze or sid
    will work without any trouble.
Live CD set is updated to the KDE 4.2.4 on lenny for all three architectures.
For those that want to try prior installation.
Live-CD (maybe DVD - the Image has more than 800 MB) is available for i386 and amd64
    New version taken from upstream.
    Taken diff.gz from unstable
    bunzip and gzip original sources.
Attention: this version does _not_ change the config home directory from .kde4 to .kde
This version does not use kaboom.
    New version backported from unstable.
Attention: this version does _not_ change the config home directory from .kde4 to .kde
This version does not use kaboom.
Version needs another update to show proper messages during upgrade with running kde.
    Packages for amd64 are uploaded.
Packages for PowerPC are finished and uploaded.
Missing orig.tar.gz files have been added to the source repository
    Experimental has kde 4.2.1 !
Packages are kept in a separate repository until I managed to compile all architectures.
    Repository for amd64 is complete.
    Repository for i386 is complete.
Packages for powerpc can be prepared next weekend.
    Packages for amd64 are finished
Packages for i386 are already uploaded. Powerpc will follow soon.
Ugly bug from previous version is fixed (verified on powerpc platform)
    Installation:
    * apt-get install kde4
    Removal:
    * apt-get remove --purge `dpkg -l | grep mea1`
Packages for powerpc are finished, i386 will be completed soon.
Installation has been verified on powerpc platform.
Ugly bug: logout is not working. Need to switch to local console.
    apt-get install kde4
    Packages for i386 are finished.
Installation had been verified on both architectures.
    apt-get install kde4 kde4-extra
Packages for i386 and powerpc are finished.
Installation had been verified on both architectures.
    apt-get install kde4
Now working on extra packages like kphotogallery, kmplayer, kvpnc, k3b
Package for i386 and powerpc are finished and uploaded.
Powerpc packages are tested on my G5
The version is taken from Debian experimental and will contain backports of all needed packages.
At the moment I am preparing packages for x86 architecture only.
The new beta version is available for Debian etch.
Taken from the Debian-KDE repository, backported some dependencies
Hopefully my new employer will give me some time to continue working on this site.
unluckily 1und1 was not able to deliver the requsted availability of this service.
luckily there are other options.... this server is now hosted by strato.de
     yes.
I want Debian to move from sarge to etch as stable version.
Therefore I stopped backporting elder software to sarge.
Everybody else who is able to support the development teams: help making etch stable!
the new repository is already online.
momentarily only x86 packages are available.
today i went to a gravis store and bought a 12" powerbook
at the moment i am messing with the new trackpad.
creating packages for should start soon.
sources taken from sid. this time it is a backport only.
taken from etch, recompiled for KDE 3.5.0.
KOffice is included in KDE 3.5.0 repository
     taken from alioth: http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.5.0/
added ffmpeg and mp3 support to kdemultimedia
recompiled due to qt C++ ABI transition
     new packages are online
truecrypt is available for ubuntu only.
now Debian packages for i386 Kernel 2.6.8 are finished.
the KDE team released a security update for Version 3.4
packages for PowerPC (etch) are already available.
packages for x86 (sarge) are available.
due to the permanent shutdowns we decided to reinstall this server.
content is completly restored, some minor administrative tasks are missing.
unluckily our bug-database was corrupt. we will set up a new one.
compilation of kdepim, kdebindings, kdeaddons and kdegames failed.
kded crashed exactly 20 times after login
     kdemediamanger crashed with signal 11
i will not try to fix the errors. i will wait for the final release.
The ubuntu-project has diffs available for arts, kdelibs and kdebase.
The whole project was a mess when compiling under Debian sarge.
In the first step I will create packages for x86 (but i can not test them!)
Second I will recompile the packages on sparc and powerpc.
The former website was written in plain html using vi editor.
The new website is running on dokuwiki right now.
     Last week the G5 arrived.
Unluckily Debian is not -yet(?)- capable of booting the installer.
YellowDog Linux and Gentoo are working.
Now I will try to put a new kernel on the d-i image.
X.Org was packaged using the debian x force patchset for 6.8.2-4
compilation and packaging takes approx. 3 hours on an Intel P3.
     addedd kompmgr to kwin package
     addedd build dependencies for kompmgr
KDE 3.4.1 taken from Alioth changed dependency to Xorg 6.8.2.
hopefully this version of xorg is capable of using dual head on my nvidia based
     powerbook.
update 2005-06-27 : package is not complete. fonts are missing.
the i386 packages were compiled using pbuilder and the apt-source mentioned above.
     Activated FlySpray as BugTrackingSystem
since xfree does not support the secondary display output on my powerbook, I started
compiling and packaging the ubuntu version of xorg 6.8.2-5 for debian sarge.
     upload is completed.
the source- and diff-files are taken from the kde-pkg project on alioth:
     http://pkg-kde.alioth.debian.org/kde-3.4.0/
unluckily no powerpc packages have been made available by the kde package maintainers.
so I compiled them on my PowerBook running sarge.
the new version installs without any problems and is running fine on my powerbook G4.
Now my repository has the same package layout as provided by Debian X-strike-force.
the packages had grave mistakes on dependencies and made apt-get unusable.
the version -4 of xfree for powerpc was also withdrawn due to the same mistakes.
At the moment I am trying to get packages according to the new split libraries.
the new packages are available via apt-get.
since the debian x strike force has changed packaging this package can not be used
     for upgrading
initial installation in my powerbook went fine.
now I will start preparing -5 and try to adopt the new packaging.
yesterday the compile script was finishing without errors.
all packages have been created using the debian x-strike-force patches for 4.3.0-6.
here an uncomplete list of the changes:
             * removed unneccessary patches (just removing single whitespaces by
               tabbed whitespaces makes no sense.)
             * removed patches that were already applied to the snapshot
             * removed via-driver as it does not compile on i386
             * some patches to the xkbd-files
